Derby Area League Results
Summer 2013
Some good team performances this year, but unfortunately Duffield did not win any divisions in the Derby Area League. Of the Ladies' teams, the fourth team finished highest - second place in division 4, with six points. Similarly, the mixed thirds also finished second in division 4 with ten points. The men's second team came third in division 1 with ten points, followed in fourth place by our first team who gained six points.
The division titles were fairly well distributed this year, with seven clubs gaining honours.
Ladies' division winners were: David Lloyd (divisions 1 and 3), Ashbourne (div 2) and Ockbrook & B (div 4).
Men's division winners were: Church Broughton (div 1), Ockbrook & B (div 2), Ashbourne (div 3) and Woodlands (div 4).
Mixed division winners were: Church Broughton (div 1), Woodlands (div 2), New Watchorn (div 3), Woodlands (div 4), and Little Eaton (div 5).
Church Broughton won this year's Lawson Wood Final against Lakeside at CURC TC.

Summer 2012
Unfortunately, none of our teams won their division this year - the first time for many years that this has happened, although the ladies 3rd team came second in division 3. The results for each team are listed below. Click on the links to go to the League website for the full results for each team.
The winners of the Ladies' divisions were: Church Broughton (1st div.), Rolls Roysce 1 (2nd div.), New Watchorn (3rd div.) and Rolls Royce 2 (4th div.).
The winners of the Men's divisions were: David Lloyd 1 (1st div.), CURC 1 (2nd div.), Belper 1 (3rd div.), Ashbourne 3 (4th div.), Ashbourne 4 (5th div.), Mapperley Pk 1 (6th div.).
The winners of the Mixed divisions were: Derbyshire Tennis Club (1st div.), Rolls Royce 1 (2nd div.), Lakeside (3rd div.), Rolls Royce 3 (4th div.), Ashbourne 4 (5th div.).

Highlights of the 2011 Summer season included:
Winning the Lawson Wood Cup (mixed team) for the first time since 2004
Winning the Derby Area League Mixed Division 1 - first time since 1997
Men's 2nd team winning the Derby Area League Men's Division 1 - pipping our first team to the post on set difference
Promotion of the Men's 1st team to the Regional Section of the Aegon National Club League for the first time in 10 years
Summer 2010
LADIES 1 - Captain, Jenny Knibbs - 3rd in Division 1. Jenny's 1st year as a Duffield captain.
LADIES 2 - Captain, Judith Eisenberg. 7th in Division 1.
LADIES 3 - Captain, Marianne Dammer. 1st in Division 3, promoted.
LADIES 4 - Captain, Sue Harwood. 3rd in Division 4.
MIXED 1 - Captains, Caroline Wood and Andy Livingston. 3rd in Division 1.
MIXED 2 - Captains, Linda Harrison and Andy Fairhurst. 2nd in Division 2, promoted.
MIXED 3 - Captains, Janet Horsley and Stephen Fleet. Mid table, Division 4.
MEN's 1 - Captain, Hudson Oakenfull. Won Division 1, for the 4th time in last 5 years.
MEN's 2 - Captain, Simon Bradford. 3rd in Division 1, the same position as last year.
MEN's 3 - Captain, Jonathan Baines. Mid-table in Division 3, Jonathan's first year as Duffield captain.
MEN's 4 - Captain, John Killip. 1st in Division 3. Since John became captain and fielded mostly Duffield juniors, they have won Division 5, Division 4 and now Division 3.
MEN's 5 - Captain, Martin Farrell. The strongest team in the league bottom of Division 6! Things can only get better???
