Duffield Lawn Tennis Club provides some of the best facilities in Derbyshire including seven all-weather courts, top-class coaching, a gym, excellent changing rooms with saunas, and a comfortable bar and lounge.
We run ladies’, men’s and mixed teams in the Derbyshire leagues and offer a comprehensive social tennis programme for all levels. Tennis for children and young people is a priority for the club and our Junior programme includes all levels of mini tennis as well as performance coaching.
The Tennis Clubmark run by the Lawn Tennis Association guarantees that we are delivering a high-quality tennis development programme and operating in line with best practice.

2014 Duffield Club Championships
The entry forms for this years’ tournament are now on the notice board. The actual tournament will start from the 1st September you have a few weeks to get your name down.
Details of the entry categories are available here. The draw will go up on the notice boards and be emailed out towards the end of the month. Finals' day is 27th September.
Coaching and junior news
The summer coaching camps for juniors takes a break for week commencing 25th August due to the county championships and will return for the final week of the school holidays on the 1st September.
A special mention for those who have recently received, their GCSE or A-Level exam results- good luck for the future. Congratulation to a valued member Nik Trifunovic. Not only is Nik a level 2 registered coach but he has recently gained 3 A Stars and an A which will see him go to Cambridge to study engineering!
This month we are focusing our attention on a little discussed but very important topic – the grip!.

Derbyshire closed tournament
This tournament will be taking place at the club between the 23rd and 30th August. Play starts at 9am (contrary to previous information which said 10 am) so there will be limited court time before then, but at peak times at the weekend and in the evenings court availablity will be restricted.
Please check with the tournament referee before you use any of the courts.
Wimbledon public ballot
Yes, the 2014 competition has only just finished but the public ballot (not to be confused with the club ballot which we will run in spring next year) is now open for the 2015 championships. You have until the 15th December to apply.

Monday 18th and Tuesday 19th August will see a general tidying of the courts and grounds. As always, volunteers to help with the effort would be most welcome.

The final grand slam of the year, the US Open, gets underway on Monday 25th August. To be able to watch the action on TV, you will need access to Sky Sports or Eurosport.
