The Duffield Tennis Club AGM will be held on Wednesday, January 25 at 7.30 in the clubhouse. All members are welcome. As in previous years, anyone wishing to be included in the draw for the club Wimbledon tickets needs to add their name to the list on the night, or contact the Secretary beforehand. It is vital that you include your British Tennis membership number. The secretary's annual report is available.

The Derbyshire LTA Tennis Presentation Night takes place at Pride Park on Friday, February 24th.
Tickets are £22.50 per person which includes a 2 course meal, disco, awards and other items. Every Tennis club in Derbyshire will be represented, Duffield will have 3 tables.
Please contact Keith Murcutt, Secretary if you want to attend, there still are some tickets left.

Courts 3, 4 and 5 have been refurbished. The old sand was extracted using a compressor, the surfaces were brushed and cleaned and then new sand was added. At present the playing surfaces will be sandy but this will be brushed and trodden into the carpet. The bounce is now slower. The cost was £6,000, about 18% of the cost of a new surface for 3 courts.
The overhanging trees from Ecclesbourne Avenue gardens have been cut back, so the shade beneath them will be less of a problem to the courts. The greenery around the car park has also been trimmed making it easier to park.
