DUFFIELD'S men's team has triumphed at the 2011 AEGON Team Tennis County Play-offs

Duffield's four-man side will face clubs from across the Midlands next year after winning the AEGON Team Tennis County play-offs.

Having whitewashed The Park Tennis Club in the first round, they sealed victory with a 10-2 win over Grimsby Tennis Centre.

Richard Harrison beat Trevor Kelly 6-2, 6-3; Chris Beastall lost 3-6, 6-7 to Simon Baldwin; Jonathan Hughes overcame Adam Wrightham 6-4, 7-5 and Steven Amey won 6-4, 6-1 against Joseph Beal.

In the doubles, Harrison and Amey won 6-1, 6-3 against Kelly and Baldwin, while Hughes and Beastall beat Wrightham and Beal 7-6, 6-1.

Team captain Edward Oakenfull said: 'This is the first time we will have been in the regional section for 10 years and it's a wonderful achievement.'
