TEAMS
This summer's Duffield tennis team results are as follows:
MEN 1 (Captain Hudson Oakenfull) - played 7, won 6 lost 1, winners of Div 1. (Div 1 in 2010) This is the 3rd time we have won Division 1 in the past 4 years, which had been previously won by Duffield way back in 1979. An excellent result, confirming Duffield Men's 1st team as being the top team in the Derbyshire leagues.
MEN 2 (Captain Simon Bradford) played 7, won 5 lost 2, 3rd in Div 1. (Div 1 in 2010) Simon's first year as captain, the team only lost to our 1st team and Burton, beating Lloyd's which our 1st team lost to!
MEN 3 (Captain Michael Davies) played 6, won 3 lost 3, currently 4th in Div 2. (Div 2 in 2010) A good mid-table finish.
MEN 4 (Captain John Killip) played 7 won 7, winners of Div 4. (Div 3 in 2010) John has fielded at least 4 Duffield juniors per match and this season the team has been unbeaten. Team members have included Jack Killip, Alex Harlow, Tom Smith, Cameron Luckett, Jono Hughes, Sam West, ages range from 12 (Jack) to 16. For the second year in succession, our team of juniors (largely) has been promoted. Well done John for organising the team, but some of these junior players may be pushing for a place next year in the higher Men's teams.
MEN 5 (Captain Martin Farrell) played 6, won 4 lost 2, 3rd in Div 6. (Div 6 in 2010) A good top-half-of-table finish.

Duffield Men's 1st Team, Summer 2006
The 2006 title-winning team 1st team was led by captain Hudson Oakenfull, and largely featured (left to right) Richard Harrison, Nick Wharham, Mark Elks, Mat Stone, Julian Harrison and Hudson. They were undefeated throughout the summer.

Men's Night on the Duffield courts is on Thursdays. The sessions start at 6.30 and can last until 8.30 or 9.00 on courts 1 & 2 in the winter, in the summer more courts are available. Anyone who is a member and turns up will get a game of tennis, usually Men's doubles. Times are also set aside for Social Night on Wednesdays at 6.30 (usually Mixed doubles) and Doubles on Sunday mornings from 9.30.
