DUFFIELD TENNIS
DUFFIELD TOURNAMENT
Any member of Duffield LTC can enter the club tournament.
Entry is free, trophies are given out after the Finals and kept for a year.
Matches to start on Saturday, September 4 and all Finals to take place on Saturday Sept 18.
Competitors to arrange their own matches, both Adults and Juniors.
On Finals Day, food will be available, Wimbledon umpires to officiate.

DERBYSHIRE LTA CLOSED TOURNAMENT
This took place at Duffield between Monday, August 23 and Saturday, August 28.
Despite the first half of the week suffering from much rain and drizzle, the weather improved enough for the semi-finals to finish by Friday and all the matches were completed by 5.00 on Saturday.
A barbecue took place on Saturday afternoon and presentations were held outside, both for adults and juniors.
Chris Simpson claims a hat-trick of titles
at the Derbyshire County Closed.
Chris won the men's senior and under-21 singles events and the men's doubles, while only narrowly losing in the mixed doubles final.
Simpson beat Simon Thornewill 7-6 (7/3), 6-4 in the men's final before teaming up with Steven Amey to see off Simon Thornewill and James Grindell in the doubles. Katie Higson won the ladies singles & doubles Sam Ferguson won the under-12 and under-14 titles, beating Jay Clarke on both occasions. Katy Wilson won the Bramah Trophy for top junior performer, after taking the girls' under-14 and under-16 singles titles, and the under-15 girls' doubles crown.

This summer's Duffield tennis team results are as follows:BARBECUE A brick barbecue has been built on the grass at the bottom of the courts, for use by arrangement with the club.
Tennis Clubmark
Duffield has been awarded Clubmark, the fifth club in the county to earn this.

  Junior Group Coaching Programme
This has now been compiled by James Grindell, an abbreviated version is on the "Coaching & Juniors" page of this website. A full copy of the Programme has been sent to all club members. Assisting James are two other coaches now working at the Club, Tom Rushby and Simon Thornewill.
    MEN'S & LADIES CAPTAINS
The Men's Captain for 2010 is Andy Livingston, and the Ladies Captain is Carol Winfield.
